Itinerary

The below itinerary can change due to tides and weather.

Day 1

Palace Hostel

6:15am

Meet at Palace Hostel for a safety briefing commencing at 6.30am, the tour will
depart immediately

Fraser Island

After a short ferry ride from the mainland, the exploring begins in 4WD vehicle with optional Self-Drive (Must be over 21 and have an open driver’s license with 2+ years driving experience).

Lake Birrabeen

Have a swim in the beautiful water of Lake Birrabeen or Lake Wabby, and relax on the pure white sand

Central Station / Wanggoolba Creek

Exploring the lush rainforest, and spotting fish, turtles and eels at Wanggoolba Creek and learn about Fraser Island History at Central Station

Beach Campsite

The night is spent at the beach campsite where the guides will
cook up a great Aussie BBQ

Day 2

Fraser Island

Travel along the eastern beach where they’ll have the opportunity to experience the thrill of taking a 4WD for a spin along the Seventy File Mile Highway. This stretch of sand is a fully operational highway and is even patrolled by police.

Lake McKenzie

Head inland and take some time to relax around Lake Mckenzie. This is a ‘perched’ lake, which means it contains only rainwater, no groundwater, and is crystal clear. The sand here is pure white silica sand so it’s not only pretty to look at but feels beautifully soft to walk or sit on too. It’s no wonder it’s on of Fraser Island’s most popular natural sites

Kingfisher Bay

Visit Kingfisher Bay before departing by ferry at 2pm

Hervey Bay

Return back to Palace Hostel in the afternoon
