21321 I did the 5 days/4 nights tour to Fraser Island from Brisbane. Fraser Island is definitely a beautiful place to visit. Some of the logistics wasn't ideal though. If you come from Brisbane, the first evening of the tour, there is no-one there to welcome you or give you any explanations as to what is happening. You get passed from one bus to another (with 1h 20 min wait in between) onto the ferry to the resort King Fisher Bay where you get some information on a sheet of paper for you to read. We got there 15 min before the buffet closed. The next morning is quite slow, waiting for the people that arrive on the ferry in the morning and then picking up some other people in Rainbow Beach. So your "extra" first day isn't very useful as you arrive very late. From then on you get more of a ''tour'' feeling as you finally have a guide who tells you what's happening. Our guide was very friendly and helpful. On our last evening and last morning, when the tour guide and the people of the 3 day tour have already left, a few things went wrong. King Fisher Bay Resort had deactivated our keys for our last night. So we got back to our lodges and couldn't enter our rooms. The lodges are quite far away from the reception, there is no phone number you can call so we had to ask the kitchen staff of the bar for help. They were very friendly and tried to help us, but it seems very hard for them to get through to the reception. I had to wait 1h30 min for them to activate my room key, all this time couldn't take a shower or enjoy my last evening. The next morning, the 7h20 bus that was supposed to come and pick us up to bring us to the ferry, never showed up. Had to ask a guide for help who arranged a pick-up. It was though as if the people who had booked an extra night never existed for the Resort people.
